Product Description

Sir Robert Lorimer practised architecture in Edinburgh between 1893 and 1929, and was influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement. His deep response to Scotland's landscape and its crafts was vividly expressed in his buildings - and in his letters. He was Scotland's leading architect when in 1911 he received a knighthood for designing the Thistle Chapel in St Giles' Cathedral in Edinburgh. This copiously-illustrated book is the only detailed treatment of the man and his work to be published in the last seventy years.
