Douglas William Freshfield

Douglas Freshfield was one of the great Victorian Alpinist writers and was a President of the Royal Geographical Society and a Chairman of the Society of Authors. This book was his first published title and as it was privately printed is also his rarest and is not listed in published bibliographies. Freshfield died aged 88 in 1934 in Forest Row, Sussex.
