Both a meditation on the role of yoga practice in the world, including Norman's personal journey, and a Yin yoga manual with over 140 photographs of poses as well as suggested sequences, this booktakes the practice of yoga and self to profound levels through stories, images and well-researched debates.

I'll reach for this text again and again!Review by April
Norman Blair’s book Brightening Our Inner Skies: Yin and Yoga has had a timely release date. In our world, which is now sadly seeking ways to divide, Norman’s words act as a sweet salve to these challenging times. He presents spacious discussions on community, on tendencies of empty striving and illustrates how, in so many ways, the peaceful practice of Yin yoga can bring us together and fulfill our aching needs.

I love the book and I am bias as Norman has been my friend and teacher for many years. Having listened to his words in classes, it seems very precious to now have them at my fingertips. As a teacher myself, I reach for Norman’s book to share with my students. I read from it to them while they are in Yin postures and it is such delicious stuff.

Part autobiography, part Yin yoga instruction manual, part reference guide, part thought-provoking world view forums, Norman bears his soul for us to see. With beautiful alliterations and wonderful photographs and drawings, this will be a text I will continue to reach for in my life journey.

Thank you Norman!

A yoga book like no other.Review by Japonesa
I bought Brightening Our Inner Skies last month and have been enjoying it immensely since. What a thing of beauty it is, both in design and message. It is a yoga book like no other. No exhortations to try harder, longer, stronger; no balletic models who seem to belong to a different species to the rest of us and no vacuous nonsense promising that we may one day be as spiritually pure as the author. Instead a humble, rigorous, thoughtful collection of writings and postures for all of us, all of the time, with gorgeous photos of ordinary (although, of course, beautiful!) people. It really is a triumph.
I - and my dodgy shoulder - are grateful for it. Together we are bananasana-ing daily:) (Posted on 01/11/2016)
